BIG NEWS!

I have HUGE NEWS! If you follow me on twitter, you already know. But for those of you who don't, I still want you to be in the loop.

*throws confetti*

I wasn't expecting it to end here. Those of you who have seen my word count tracker, you know I wanted to write a lot more. But it just felt right. It was the place.

So does this mean you can go buy my book tomorrow, or even next week? Sadly no. There will be massive amounts of editing, but like I said in my meme I'm just taking in the view for a little while.

I'm actually going to step away from the book for about two weeks. This is so I can go back with fresh eyes and find the true story behind all my words.

What will I be doing in that time? Editing some books for friends, writing short stories, and possibly even holding a contest*! I am so excited for the future. I feel like good things are on the way!

Congratulations! That's a wonderful accomplishment. And good for you for stepping away! Very smart. I was never very good at doing that, but every time I manage it, I'm surprised at how much I find to improve.

Congrats! It's such a great feeling, isn't it? Remember how good this feels because there are days ahead during the 2nd draft process when you think, "What kind of @#$( is this?"

The Noveling Journey

cr: Diter Laskowski This past weekend I spent 10+ hours in a minivan with four small children. One of those children is only eighteen months old. On top of being squirmy, said child had started antibiotics for an ear infection only the day before. He can also scream very loud. As one must do with such an experience, I tried to find the positive. It was either that or breakdown and sob which wouldn't do anyone good. What I came to realize in the anxiety to and from my destination, was that I had been going about noveling all wrong. And trust me, it wasn't a negative thought. One thing I know about road trips is that if I want to get somewhere, I have to keep going. Stopping at Buc-ee's is really fun. It's great to stretch my legs and buy myself some beaver nuggets, but it's not going to get me anywhere. The longer I hang out at Buc-ee's, the later I'll show up. Writing is the same.
