I've decided thursday is good day to let you all know what's new and happening around here. Plus I want to give you updates on my book, so I'm held more accountable :) I have to be honest and say that the editing is not coming along at all right now. I've have been way overloaded, but mostly I need you guys to kick me in the butt and get me going again. Every writer seems to have something to say about writer's block. Generally I see one of two positions - Option 1. It's a real thing that writers have to deal with. Option 2. It's a myth, and I refuse to believe it. I've decided that writer's block must be akin to the elusive Bigfoot. Some swear on their lives that he exists, while others say such a thing is silly. I am taking the third ground. The third ground, you ask? You either believe something, or you don't. Well... Some might say that I've never suffered from writer's block, but I don't believe that, I think I suffer from it every day. Some people truly do have an entire book mapped out step-by-step in their heads (and on paper), but I'm not one of those people. I play with it as it goes, which makes editing a beast, but I like to approach it in the same way I get to know someone, little by little. I believe people enter our lives for a reason, and when someone molds your path, it's hard to let them go. It was eighth grade, and I was 13 and awkward. If only writing a book was as easy as having a great idea, writing like the wind (with no problems) then not even needing to take a second look. If only every agent would love your book. If only every publishing company would sell sell sell, and think of no one else. If it were as simple as that, everyone would write books. Books take time, lots of it. The difficult thing about time is that it is all too easy to get sidetracked. Especially if you had a fabulously relaxing 4th of July. So here are a few tricks I use to get back into the writing/editing groove. 1. Get to know your characters, again . Every time I can't seem to find my place, I have a conversation with my MC. Yes, this sounds crazy, but really all I'm doing is writing conversations in my head anyway. What do we talk about? We go over memories of everything we've been through, and then I ask her about how she feels about certian things. It helps me focus my efforts, because how can I just let her 'die...

I am seriously missing Friday's inspiration. I love music so much and I just want to share with you guys. So I thought what's the harm in sharing music every once in a while ? No harm, that's what. I don't listen to the radio much (Pandora and iTunes are my staples) so when I heard this song for the first time the other day I just had to share. It embodies that feeling of a first kiss so well. Plus I love Parachute and Lady Antebellum, LOVE I say. Combining them could only be better. Without further ado here it is - kiss me slowly.
